PHOEBE CAPLIN, MSW, PEL
We deserve to live fully and authentically. Life transitions, stress, relationships with others, and trauma can prevent us from being fully present and living a life we truly enjoy. Emotions can be overwhelming. At times, it can be difficult to process our emotions in a way that feels safe. You are not alone in this. Therapy can be a safe place to walk through these challenges together and guide you towards self-understanding, acceptance, and positive change.
I understand that social inequality impacts mental health and well-being and I want to explore the relationship between your identity and broader societal systems that affect our everyday lives. In a therapy session, I am authentic, empathetic, and non-judgmental, creating a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. This space is for you, so we will work at the pace and in the way that feels best for you. Whether it’s through talk therapy, behavioral techniques, or incorporating mindfulness, I will work collaboratively with you to help you achieve your goals in a trauma-informed manner. My goal is to build a real partnership with you.
I enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma history, “over-intellectualizing” their feelings, and exploring their identity. I am particularly passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent folks (diagnosed or self-identified), and the perinatal population. Wherever you are in life, our therapy will start where you are most comfortable. I’m glad that you’re here! Please feel free to contact me for a complimentary in-person, phone, or video consultation.
